How do I use the map?The interactive map allows you to find out where you live and if you fall within any restriction zones. It also allows you find the contact details of your nearest Animal Health Divisional Office. See “What does it show?” to find out more about the purpose of the map. Getting Started – Interactive map overviewWhen you first reach the interactive map page a screen, similar to the one below, greets you. The map is zoomed out as far as it will go and will show all of Great Britain.
Step 1 – Search the interactive mapTo the left of the map there is a search option.
Type in either a Place name, Postcode or a Map Reference in the relevant box and press Go. The interactive will display the area of the country that you are interested in, as shown below.

| Coloured areas, identified in the legend, represent all restriction and control zones. If after applying a search, or navigating around a map you find that your premises are located within a coloured area, please use the legend (located to the left of the map) to find out more information. | ![]() |
By left clicking on any of the coloured areas in the legend you will be linked to other web pages, which, provide information on what the zones mean, their legislative powers and any actions, which you as a poultry owner may be required to carry out.
To return to the map press the back button on your Internet browser software.
To find out the contact details of your local Animal Health Divisional Office, select “Display local Animal Health Divisional Office information”

Left click on your premises or any other place of interest on the map. The map will refresh and you will see a small yellow / orange triangle with “Query Point” written on top of it.
This helps you to see that you have chosen your desired point of interest. Above the map and below the title of the map you will now see the details of your local Animal Health Divisional Office. The details give the telephone number (both day & night), fax number, E-mail address and the counties / administrative areas that the Animal Health Divisional Office cover.
If you wish to print a map of your area of interest, first zoom in or out and pan (see section 3) to your desired scale.
Next press the small printer icon
located below the bottom right corner of the map. You will be presented
with a print preview window.
Press the print button on your Internet browser to print the map.
Note: You can also print the interactive map screen at any time by pressing the print icon, or by going to File / print on your Internet browser.
To return to the map press the back button on your Internet browser to return to the map.
If you wish to save a copy of the map of your area of interest, first zoom in or out and pan (see section 3) to your desired scale.
Next press the small save icon
located below the bottom right corner of the map. You will be presented
with a preview window.

Click on the map with the right mouse button and from the menu that is
displayed, select "Save Picture As..." or "Save
Image As..." . Name the file and choose the format that
you want e.g. bitmap.
To return to the map press the back button on your Internet browser to
return to the map.
